Known issues on the 1987 Mirage. For the 1987 Mirage, NHTSA records one recall. Certain 1987 Mirage vehicles with Takata-made safety belts were recalled because the red release button on either front buckle could break, and fragments falling into the buckle could leave it unable to latch or release as designed, so the belt might not protect an occupant in a crash. Dealers repaired or replaced faulty buckles free. Owners have submitted 3 complaints, 2 about seat belts and 1 about the electrical system; 1 complaint reported a fire. The manual's procedures, wiring diagrams and diagnostics address the electrical system and body.
