1984 GMC G2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1984 GMC G2500 serves four trims of the full-size van, Rally, Rally Custom, Rally STX and Vandura, in two 3-door bodies, one a standard cargo van and the other a standard passenger van. Behind the doghouse sits one of four naturally aspirated overhead-valve engines: the 4.1L inline-six (250 cu in), the 5.0L V8 (305 cu in), the 5.7L V8 (350 cu in) or the 6.2L diesel V8 (379 cu in). Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are grouped by system rather than by trim.

Known issues on the 1984 G2500. Federal records hold nothing against the 1984 G2500, neither a recall nor an owner complaint logged with NHTSA. Work on one of these vans is therefore guided by the book rather than by a recall notice, and the book is where the engine specifications for the gasoline inline-six and V8s live alongside the service procedures for the 6.2L diesel. Torque values for the chassis and driveline, wiring diagrams for the cargo and passenger bodies, and system-level diagnostics fill out the rest of what a shop needs.
