Known issues on the 2020 A7. Eight recalls are on federal record for this model year. Rear axle misalignment, left uninspected after an earlier trailing-arm lock nut repair, can cause premature or uneven tire wear and raise crash risk. A broken trailing-arm lock nut can itself misalign the rear axle, leading to loss of control. An incorrectly manufactured passenger air bag score line may keep the bag from deploying properly and eject plastic debris into the cabin, and a separate passenger air bag inflator issue can also fail to deploy properly through the instrument panel tear seam. A fuel level sender can stick and display an inaccurate reading, risking an engine stall from unexpected fuel loss. Liquid spilled in the rear seat can penetrate and shut down the gateway control module, suddenly cutting engine power. An incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap may lead to the wrong brake fluid being used, reducing braking ability. And a software error can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle.
