Known issues on the 2012 A7 Quattro. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two cover the Passenger Occupant Detection System: in one, stress or wear in the front passenger seat's body-sensing mat can cause the PODS control module to malfunction so the front passenger air bag may not deploy properly in a crash; in the other, on vehicles with heated and cooled seats, the PODS control module may malfunction and prevent the passenger-side air bags from deploying in a crash. Three recalls cover the fuel system: a fuel line with a compression point that can weaken, a fuel hose in the engine compartment that can degrade, and a fuel injection system that may experience a leak — each of which can leak fuel near an ignition source and raise the risk of fire. Owners have filed 30 complaints for this model year, and no technical service bulletins are logged.
