Known issues on the 2018 CX-5. The 2018 CX-5 carries 3 recalls. On certain vehicles, the impeller in the low-pressure fuel pump could crack and deform, which could make the pump fail and stall the engine; dealers replaced the pumps. Certain vehicles also had powertrain control module software with an error that could stall the engine, corrected by reprogramming. A third recall covered 682 vehicles: on certain 2018 CX-5 vehicles the side curtain air bags might not unfold properly in a side impact or rollover, and dealers replaced them.
