Known issues on the 2017 CX-5. One recall is recorded for the 2017 CX-5, limited to certain vehicles fitted with the accessory trailer hitch wiring harness; it covered 1,076 vehicles. That harness may have been routed too close to the exhaust muffler, where contact could damage it and leave the trailer lights dead, raising the risk of a crash; dealers rerouted it away from the muffler and replaced it where damaged. The 147 complaints cite the electrical system 44 times, the engine 15, service brakes 14, the fuel and propulsion system 13 and structure 12, and 5 reported a crash and 3 an injury.
