Known issues on the 2014 CX-5. Three recalls are recorded for the 2014 CX-5. On certain vehicles built within a set production window, the lower bolts joining the front strut to the steering knuckle could loosen and let the knuckle separate, costing steering control; dealers inspected them, replacing and retightening loose ones. Certain vehicles from another window had a fuel filler pipe that could rupture in a crash and leak fuel, and dealers modified its attachment to the bracket. Lift gate struts that could corrode and break brought a recall for certain vehicles from a third window, with replacements awaiting parts. Of 377 complaints, 132 cite the electrical system and 7 reported a crash. Suspension, steering, fuel system and body procedures relate to those recalls.
