Known issues on the 2017 Legacy. Two recalls stand against the 2017 Legacy. Certain cars built within a stated production window may have left the factory with an improperly machined steering column, leaving the wheel unable to turn the front wheels; owners were told not to drive until the repair was done, and dealers inspected the columns and, where needed, replaced them. Certain cars from another stated build window may have had the knee guard bracket poorly attached to the steering beam, so it might not hold an unbelted driver's legs in a crash. Owners filed 119 complaints, with visibility/wiper at 33 and the electrical system at 30; 10 complaints reported a crash and 6 an injury.
