Known issues on the 2006 Legacy. Seven campaigns have been opened against this model year of the Legacy. One concerned certain cars registered in certain salt-belt states, where salty road spray could get past an opening in the fuel tank guard and corrode the brake lines until fluid leaked and stopping distances grew; dealers checked for seepage, replaced lines where needed and applied anti-corrosion wax. Another covered certain cars with a replacement mechanical-key ignition switch that could turn itself off. Several more targeted passenger air bag inflators on certain vehicles.
