Known issues on the 2017 Mazda 3. NHTSA lists 2 recalls and 83 owner complaints for the 2017 Mazda 3, and both recalls concern what the driver sees. Certain 2017 Mazda 3 vehicles could show a flickering or distorted rearview camera image; dealers inspected the camera, replaced it where needed and added a seal to hold its wiring harness. A defective wiper relay on certain cars could leave the windshield wipers inoperative, and the remedy was a new front body control module with a revised relay design. Of the complaints, 20 name the electrical system and 11 backover prevention, and 6 reported a crash. Wiring diagrams for the camera and wiper circuits and diagnostics for the electrical system are in the manual.
