On certain cars assembled within a specific production window, fuel could slip past the tank's shut-off valve into the emissions system, then leak or stall the engine; owners were advised not to drive until it was repaired, and the valve was inspected and, as needed, replaced along with affected emissions parts. A recall covering 3,849 vehicles targeted certain cars from another production window whose tanks may have deformed in production, risking a leak at the recirculation pipe weld.
