This factory service and repair manual for the 2017 Ford Transit-250 covers Base and PTV trims across six bodies, among them a two-door cutaway van and a two-door cab and chassis intended for outside bodywork. The three engines listed are the multi-fuel 3.7L V6, the turbocharged 3.5L V6 on gasoline and the turbocharged 3.2L inline-five diesel. Since the same chassis can end up carrying very different loads, the suspension, brake and driveline specifications and torque values here matter as much as the engine sections do.

Known issues on the 2017 Transit-250. Eight recalls are logged federally for this year. Ford recalled vans with a trailer tow module that can let water in, corroding the wiring to the point of a short and a fire risk. The remaining campaigns came from upfitters and cover foldaway seats whose backs can move in a crash, and wheelchair lifts whose platform can stop above the vehicle floor. Owners have filed 98 complaints with NHTSA, dominated by 37 on the power train, with nine on the electrical system and four on the structure. Wiring diagrams, driveline diagnostics and seat mounting procedures are the practical answers in this manual.
