Known issues on the 2015 Optima. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year, and three of them fall under the antilock brake and traction control component. In one, brake fluid may leak inside the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit, and if the HECU short circuits there is an increased risk of an engine compartment fire. A follow-up campaign returned to vehicles already recalled under that action, because an electrical short in the HECU increases the risk of a fire while parked or driving. A third campaign filed against the same antilock brake and traction control component warns that an engine compartment fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury. The remaining recall covers the gasoline fuel delivery hoses, lines and fittings on Optimas that previously received an engine replacement under recall number 17V-224, where a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire. Owners have filed 1,379 complaints for the year, and 150 technical service bulletins have been issued against it.
