Known issues on the 2007 Optima. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first, 12V014000, covers the frontal air bags: the clock spring can develop high resistance. Kia's filing lists certain 2006 through 2008 Optima vehicles manufactured from September 29, 2005 through January 29, 2008. The second, 11V153000, covers the automatic transmission lever and linkage, column shift: on certain 2006 through 2008 Optima vehicles built from September 29, 2005 through June 13, 2007, the shift cable may have been installed incorrectly, and the recall condition is the driver leaving the vehicle without engaging the parking brake.
