Everything in the 2013 Lexus ES 350 service and repair manual is tied to the car in your driveway rather than to a model range: the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FE), the trim Lexus sold that year and the equipment fitted to it, so a torque value or a clearance you pull from it is the one Lexus published for this model year, not a figure carried over from the year either side.

Known issues on the 2013 ES 350. One recall is on federal record for this model year. It covers forward collision avoidance and crash imminent braking: on cars ordered with the optional Pre-Collision System, the system may unexpectedly activate and apply the brakes when its radar reads a steel joint or plate in the roadway as an object, and a vehicle that unexpectedly brakes increases the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 50 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins have been issued for it. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind that system are here.
Whether you are chasing an unwanted braking event, working a 2GR-FE service interval or confirming a torque figure before a part goes back on, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your 2013 ES 350.
Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Avalon and Avalon Hybrid vehicles manufactured October 19, 2012 to October 27, 2015 and 2013-2015 Lexus ES350 and ES300h vehicles manufactured June 18, 2012 to July 6, 2015. The affected vehicles are equipped with a Pre-Collision System (PCS) as optional equipment. In these vehicles, the PCS may unexpectedly activate and apply the brakes when the radar detects a steel joint or plate in the roadway as an object.
A vehicle that unexpectedly brakes increases the risk of a crash.
