Fitment is the whole point of this book: the 2011 Lexus ES 350 service and repair manual is written for this exact year, engine and trim, so the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FE) under the hood is the engine its clearances, torque figures and diagnostic trees were written against, not a close relative from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 2011 ES 350. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year, and all three land on the same part: the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module. The first warns that an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. The second covers vehicles whose driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators had already been replaced under an earlier recall using inflators of the same design; those replacement inflators may themselves explode, with the same consequence. The third describes an inflator rupture that may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants, and covers cars originally sold, or ever registered, in Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan) and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Owners have filed 197 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are on record. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind the air bag and restraint system are here.
Whether the job is a scheduled service interval or a teardown on the 2GR-FE, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the specification Lexus set for this 2011 ES 350.

THE CAR MANUAL STATES ONE THING AND LEXUS DOES NOT EVEN ABIDE BY THE CAR ALERTS AND DOES NOT APPEAR TO CARE IF THE CUSTOMER IS SAFE OR NO
