Known issues on the 2007 ES 350. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Three of them cover the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module: two warn that an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants, resulting in serious injury or death, and name vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in a defined list of states and territories the campaigns call “Zone A”; the third covers inflators already replaced under a prior recall with units of the same design, where an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, again with serious injury or death as the outcome. A fourth recall covers the accelerator pedal, which can get stuck in the wide open position when it is trapped by an unsecured or incompatible driver’s floor mat; a stuck open pedal may result in very high vehicle speeds and make the vehicle difficult to stop. The fifth covers the optional all-weather floor mat itself, which may move forward and interfere with the accelerator pedal; the pedal may temporarily become stuck in a partially depressed position when returning to the idle position, which may increase the possibility of a crash.
