2008 Lexus ES 350 Service and Repair Manual

Fitment here is set by the car rather than the catalog: this service and repair manual is written for the 2008 Lexus ES 350 with the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FE), so every specification and torque sequence it gives is the one Lexus published for this year and engine, not a close-enough figure carried over from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 2008 ES 350. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Three of them cover the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module: in one, an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death; in the other two, an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants, with the same risk of serious injury or death. A fourth covers the accelerator pedal under vehicle speed control, where a pedal stuck wide open may result in very high vehicle speeds and make the vehicle difficult to stop, which could cause a crash, serious injury or death. The fifth is an equipment recall on the optional all-weather floor mat: if the mat is not secured by itself, or is placed on top of an existing carpeted floor mat, it could move forward and may interfere with the accelerator pedal, and the accelerator may temporarily become stuck in a partially depressed position when returning to the idle position, which may increase the possibility of a crash. Owners have filed 323 complaints for the year. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.

From air bag inflator work to accelerator pedal and floor mat retention checks or working through a scheduled service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2008 ES 350.
