Known issues on the 2013 Avalanche. Two recalls appear on the federal record for this model year, and both describe the same failure: an air bag inflator that can rupture when it deploys and send sharp metal fragments toward the driver or passengers. Owners have logged 82 complaints, 22 of them on air bags, 15 on structure and four on the electrical system.
