This factory service and repair manual for the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche covers a crew cab pickup offered with two overhead-valve V8s: a 5.3-liter of 325 cubic inches, naturally aspirated and able to run flex-fuel or gasoline, and a 6.0-liter of 364 cubic inches on gasoline alone. One body style, the four-door crew cab, carries both, across Base, LS, LT and LTZ trim. Known issues on the 2007 Avalanche. Four recalls are on the federal record. Two of them concern the passenger frontal air bag inflator, which can rupture as it fires and throw metal fragments into the cabin. The other two involve the heated washer fluid system, where a short on the module's circuit board can make other electrical features misbehave, produce smoke or an odor, and in the worst case start a fire. Air bags dominate the 493 complaints with 268, ahead of structure at 59 and the electrical system at 30 — restraint and body electrical diagnostics both sit in this manual.
