Known issues on the 2011 HHR. Three recalls are on the federal record for this year, all of them centered on the ignition. The key can be taken out while the switch is not in the off position, which leaves the car able to roll away. Weight on the key ring can pull the switch from run into accessory, stalling the engine and leaving the air bags unable to deploy in a crash. Replacement switches sold for the repair share that weakness. Owners have logged 203 complaints, led by the fuel and propulsion system at 39, the electrical system at 29 and steering at 25.
