Known issues on the 2010 Yaris. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two of them cover the frontal passenger-side air bag inflator module: in campaign 16V340000, an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants; in campaign 19V741000, an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants. A third, campaign 15V689000, covers the power window devices and controls — if the sliding electrical contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture can get in. The remaining two are labeling recalls from regional distributors over vehicles that fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims": in Southeast Toyota's campaign 10V036000, a driver may overload a vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash, while Gulf States Toyota's campaign 10V035000 states that the labeling does not meet the standard requirements. Owners have filed 123 complaints against the 2010 Yaris, and 86 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
Whether the job is an intermittent power window, air bag inflator work under one of those campaigns, or routine maintenance on the 1.5L four-cylinder, the steps and torque figures are the ones Toyota specified for the 2010 Yaris.
