This factory service and repair manual for the 2007 GMC Sierra 3500 HD covers a one-ton truck sold with two very different powertrains: a 6.6L turbocharged V8 diesel of 403 cubic inches, and a naturally aspirated 6.0L gasoline V8 of 364 cubic inches, both overhead-valve designs. Five body configurations are listed, running from the two-door standard cab pickup through crew and extended cab pickups to cab and chassis versions in either door count, and three trims, SLE, SLT and WT, sit across them.

Known issues on the 2007 Sierra 3500 HD. The federal record holds three recalls for this truck. Two concern the passenger frontal air bag — propellant that degrades over time, and moisture reaching the inflator — either of which can burst the housing and drive metal fragments into the cabin. The third affects trucks with an auxiliary battery, where excess current through the trailer harness melts a fusible link that can scorch nearby wiring and start a fire. Sixteen owner complaints cluster on air bags, with a few on brakes and engine. Restraint-system and body-wiring diagnostics are covered here.
