Known issues on the 2006 Aveo. The federal record carries a single recall, covering the daytime running light module in the center console, which can build heat until it melts and can then cause a fire. NHTSA has logged 189 owner complaints, weighted toward the electrical system at 58, air bags at 49 and exterior lighting at 15. Those are wiring and restraint concerns above all, and the manual meets them with circuit diagrams, connector and ground locations, component testing procedures and the diagnostic sequences used to isolate a fault before anything is replaced.
