2005 Chevrolet Cobalt Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt covers two bodies, a four-door sedan and a two-door coupe, in Base, LS, LT and SS trim, with two engines behind them: a naturally aspirated 2.2L DOHC inline-four of 134 cubic inches and a supercharged 2.0L DOHC inline-four of 122. The supercharged four is what makes this book wider than a compact car's usually is, because induction, fuel and cooling procedures have to be given twice, once for each engine.

Known issues on the 2005 Cobalt. Six recalls sit on the federal record for this year. Two concern the ignition: the key can be withdrawn with the switch out of the off position, leaving the car free to roll away, and the switch can be knocked out of run by weight on the key ring, cutting power to the air bags so they do not deploy in a crash. A third covers sudden loss of electric power steering assist while driving. The 1,649 complaints follow the same lines, with 1,137 on steering, 180 on the electrical system and 53 on the power train, all systems this manual diagnoses circuit by circuit.
