Known issues on the 2003 ML350. NHTSA lists three recalls against the 2003 M-Class line. One covered certain 2003 M-Class AMG vehicles, where pressing the brake pedal might fail to cancel cruise control though the stalk and the other methods still worked; two covered certain vehicles whose power steering cooler hose clamp could grip too loosely, letting fluid escape until assist faded and the pump was damaged. Owners lodged 24 complaints about the 2003 ML350 itself, most often on steering (10) and seats (7); 4 complaints reported a fire and 2 reported an injury. The 2003 M-Class line drew 9 more, led by the electrical system. Steering, cruise control and electrical procedures, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are covered here.
