Known issues on the 2002 Seville. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the steering gear box: certain vehicles left the factory with a missing or under-torqued steering gear attachment bolt, and if that bolt is absent and the remaining mounting strap fails, steering control is lost and a crash can result. The second covers the fuel tank assembly: the fuel tank pressure sensor is unusually prone to malfunction, and a malfunctioning sensor can damage fuel system components and let fuel leak out during refueling, a hazard in the presence of an ignition source.
