Known issues on the 1999 Firebird. A single recall applies, limited to certain 1999 Firebird vehicles with a manual transmission, 69 in number. Their clutch master cylinder may have been assembled with the wrong retaining ring, which could keep the clutch from disengaging when the pedal is pressed; the result could be unintended movement, longer stops, stalling or hard shifting, and dealers replaced the cylinder. Complaints number 63, led by hydraulic service brakes at 17 and the power train at 13. Of these, 7 reported a crash and 3 an injury.
