1999 Buick Century Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1999 Century. NHTSA holds 3 recalls for the 1999 Century. On certain cars with the key on, the antilock brake motor could short to its housing and ground through a flexible brake pipe, heating it until a nearby plastic fuel hose melted and an underhood fire could start. On certain cars the low beam headlamps did not light overhead signs brightly enough for night driving, and new bulbs were installed. Certain cars could also have a miscalibrated vertical headlamp aiming device. Engine and engine cooling leads the 234 owner complaints with 54, then visibility with 29; 18 reported a crash, 4 a fire and 13 an injury.
