1996 Buick Century Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1996 Century. NHTSA lists 1 recall for the 1996 Century. It concerned certain cars whose rear outboard belt anchorages might not have been strong enough, so crash loads could tear the attachment metal and separate the anchorage from the body. Among 80 owner complaints, hydraulic service brakes account for 12, the gasoline fuel system and steering for 10 apiece, and engine and engine cooling for 9. Six complaints reported a crash, 1 a fire and 6 an injury. The brakes, fuel system and steering are addressed with procedures, specifications and diagnostics, and the body with torque values.
