Complaints on the 1997 Bravada total 104, spread across the electrical system and power train at 18 each, suspension at 17, engine and engine cooling at 15 and visibility at 14; 7 reported a fire, 6 a crash and 4 an injury. Certain vehicles, 312,715 of them, were recalled because the driver belt buckle had an energy-absorbing loop that could pay out extra webbing in a severe rollover, risking ejection; a buckle without the loop replaced it.
