Known issues on the 1997 Grand Marquis. Five recalls sit on the federal record. Replacement steering shafts sold for this car may come apart while it is driven, ending steering control. Two involve service belt assemblies that fall short of the federal seat belt standard and may not hold an occupant in a collision.
