This factory service and repair manual for the 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis is built around the 4.6L single-overhead-cam V8 of 281 cubic inches, naturally aspirated and gasoline-fueled, in a four-door sedan sold as GS or LS. One engine and one body mean the specifications read as a set of fixed numbers rather than a table of variants, and the wiring diagrams, torque values and diagnostic procedures follow the same principle through the fuel, ignition, braking, steering and restraint systems.

Known issues on the 1995 Grand Marquis. Seven recalls are on the federal record. Replacement steering shafts sold for this car can separate while it is being driven, taking steering control with them. Rivets holding the rear outboard belt D-rings were not heat treated properly and can fracture under load, letting the D-ring pull away from the strap. A passenger air bag inflator can crack where the igniter plug is retained, or shed its end cap and release hot gas. Others cover a mis-cured filler pipe seal that leaks fuel and interchanged circuit breakers that can drop both headlamps at once. Complaints reach 216.
