1996 Isuzu Trooper Service and Repair Manual

Shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive finally came to the Trooper for 1996, letting drivers move in and out of 4WD High while moving. Every model now used a 24-valve single-cam 3.2L V6 rated at 190 horsepower, replacing the earlier split between single-cam and twin-cam engines. S, LS and SE four-door trims were offered. Known issues on the 1996 Trooper. Two recalls are on federal record. They cover a rear center seat belt buckle built for another market, and left front brake lines installed with too little clearance to the upper control arm. NHTSA has also logged 60 owner complaints, most often about the suspension and the engine and cooling system.
