1992 Chevrolet K2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1992 Chevrolet K2500 documents six engines, among them a 5.7L V8 that can run on gasoline or compressed natural gas and two diesels, the naturally aspirated 6.2L and the turbocharged 6.5L. The rest are gasoline V8s of 5.0L and 7.4L and a 4.3L V6. Standard cab, extended cab and cab and chassis trucks in Cheyenne, Scottsdale and Silverado trim share those engines, so the fuel and emissions sections carry the heaviest branching in the book.

Known issues on the 1992 K2500. Two recalls appear federally for this model year, and neither concerns factory hardware. A replacement fuel filter can seal inadequately where it connects, letting gasoline leak and, with an ignition source present, catch fire; a replacement oil filter can fail to seal and drain the engine's oil, with the same fire risk. Six complaints are on record, two on visibility, one on the seats and one on the engine and its cooling. Glass and wiper procedures, seat hardware torque values and cooling system specifications are all documented here.
