1986 Ford E-350 Econoline Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1986 E-350 Econoline. Eight recalls are on federal record for the 1986 van. The heater hose routing defect accounts for three of them, and a fourth covers heater and bypass hoses that could deteriorate and discharge coolant onto a hot exhaust manifold. A separate action describes deformed brake rod covers that could block the accelerator pedal from returning to idle. Twelve complaints have been filed with NHTSA, clustering on the electrical system, the engine and cooling system and the power train.
