Known issues on the 2017 Pacifica. The federal record holds 14 recalls for the 2017 Pacifica. On certain 2017 Pacifica plug-in hybrid vehicles, the battery pack could catch fire while parked with the ignition off, so owners were told not to charge it and to park outside until repairs. On certain plug-in hybrid vans, the gasoline engine might restart poorly after electric running and send unburned fuel into the catalyst. On certain vans with engine stop/start, a loose battery ground could cut steering assist or stall the engine. Owners filed 1,597 complaints on the 2017 Pacifica; 47 reported a crash, 25 an injury and 15 a fire.
