Known issues on the 2005 Pacifica. Two recall campaigns name the 2005 Pacifica. On certain 2005 Pacifica vehicles, the interplay of the fuel pump module and powertrain control module software could let the engine die while driving; dealers reprogrammed the module and swapped the pump module on vehicles from a set build window. A second recall covered 43,180 of certain 2005 Pacifica vehicles with halogen headlamps, which could flicker and then fail outright, so the harness and low-beam bulbs were inspected and, where needed, replaced. Complaints total 1,244, led by structure (413); 25 reported a crash, 17 an injury and 13 a fire.
