Known issues on the 2016 GLE350. Nine recalls are recorded for the 2016 GLE350. On certain vehicles, water could pool in the spare wheel well and ruin the fuel pump control unit, stalling the engine on the road; dealers added a drain plug. Water could also reach the electric power steering control unit of certain vehicles through an inadequately sealed connector, cutting steering assist. A small campaign reached 37 certain vehicles where the bolt joining the upper control arm to the axle stub might not have been fully tightened, which could upset wheel tracking. Complaints reach 52, with fuel and propulsion and steering at 10 each; 4 reported a crash, 4 a fire and 2 an injury. Separately, three complaints were filed against the 2016 GLE-Class line.
