Known issues on the 2013 XJ. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the electrical system software: the generic software calibration installed on the Restraints Control Module may not meet the specification for proper operation of the Supplemental Restraint System, and vehicles carrying that software may put the occupants at an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash. The second covers the certification label, which is absent on affected cars — without it the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating, front and rear Gross Axle Weight Ratings, the manufacture date and the country of manufacture are not specified, and the vehicle could be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash. The third covers the rear suspension: the toe links, the components that control the alignment of the rear wheels, can separate from the rear sub-frame, and a separation may result in a loss of vehicle stability and directional control, increasing the risk of a crash. No owner complaints are on federal record for the 2013 XJ.
