Known issues on the 2012 Touareg. Of the 4 recalls filed against the 2012 Touareg, one targeted certain Hybrid vehicles whose fuel injection system could leak, a fire hazard, and dealers replaced the fuel rails and their seals. Another involved certain Hybrid vehicles from a defined build window, where a poorly draining battery tray could let water short the high voltage battery. A third addressed certain vehicles whose brake pedal pivot pin might be missing a clip, allowing the pedal to dislodge. Complaints total 28, topped by Fuel/Propulsion System (6), Engine (5) and Steering (5); 1 reported a crash and 2 an injury.
