Known issues on the 2009 Touareg. Two recalls apply to the 2009 Touareg. Certain vehicles could develop a cracked fuel filter flange that leaks fuel and invites a fire if it meets an ignition source; dealers inspected the part, replaced cracked flanges and applied a protective cover. Certain vehicles were also recalled because the struts holding the roof edge spoiler could crack, loosening it until it might separate, and reinforcement wedges were fitted. Owners filed 19 complaints, most often under Fuel/Propulsion System (8), with Steering at 3.
