Everything in this 2012 Scion xD service and repair manual is tied to the year, engine and trim you actually own — the 1.8L four (2ZR-FE) and the transmission your xD left the line with — so the specifications and torque sequences it gives are the ones Scion published for this car rather than a close-enough figure borrowed from an adjacent model year.
Engines
- 1.8L l4 GAS Naturally Aspirated
Trims
- Automatic Trans
- Standard Trans
Known issues on the 2012 xD. No recalls are on federal record for the 2012 xD. Owners have filed 6 complaints for the year and Scion has issued 29 technical service bulletins, so what is documented on this car sits in the bulletins rather than in a safety campaign. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind the systems those bulletins cover are here.
Whether you are chasing a bulletin-documented symptom, servicing the 2ZR-FE, or working through a scheduled interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2012 xD.
