Every procedure in this 2010 Scion xD service and repair manual is tied to the car in your driveway rather than to the model line in general: it is matched to this exact year, to the 1.8L four (2ZR-FE) under the hood and to the trim it was built as, so the clearances, torque values and diagnostic trees you work from are the ones Scion published for a 2010 xD and not a figure carried over from an adjacent year.

Known issues on the 2010 xD. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the power window master switch, where grease lubricant may have been inconsistently applied to the sliding electrical contacts during manufacturing: if those contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture that get into the switch may cause a short circuit and the switch assembly may overheat and melt, increasing the risk of a fire. The second covers the seats, specifically the springs used for the driver's seat rails and, on three-door models, the front passenger seat rails; if a spring breaks the seat may not lock in position, and in a crash the seat could move, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant. The remaining two are labeling campaigns from Gulf States Toyota and Southeast Toyota, covering vehicles sold without the load carrying capacity modification labels required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims"; one is recorded simply as not meeting the standard requirements, while the other notes that a driver may overload a vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 18 complaints for the year and Scion has issued 29 technical service bulletins. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you are servicing the power window master switch, pulling a front seat to inspect the rails or working through a scheduled service on the 2ZR-FE, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2010 xD.

There is a repetitive problem with mold and AC leaks with the Scion xD. I’m having breathing problems and I feel sick. Geico and Toyota have discovered mold in my vehicle. It is actually visible but I have no idea how long there has been a leak or how long I have been breathing in mold. The AC line is under the carpet with no protective barrier which is an ideal environment for mold to grow. When I looked up a way to fix the issue several videos came up with many others who have the same issu
