Known issues on the 2012 C300. Six recalls apply to the 2012 C300. One covers certain vehicles that had the front passenger air bag replaced under an earlier campaign and may have received the wrong unit, which might not protect properly. Another concerns certain 4MATIC versions whose driver air bag could deploy unexpectedly; dealers add grounding to the steering components. Certain vehicles built between April 18 and July 12, 2011 may also have a fuel filter flange that cracks in heat and leaks. Owners reported 265 complaints, chiefly air bags (110), suspension (69) and structure (54); 5 reported a crash, 5 an injury, 4 a fire and 1 a death.
