Built around the 2011 Lexus IS 350 exactly as Lexus specified it, this service and repair manual is tied to the year, engine and trim you actually own — the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FSE) — so the clearances, torque values and service sequences you work to are the ones written for this car, not figures borrowed from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 2011 IS 350. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers the wiper system: inoperative wipers could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash. Two more cover the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module — in the first, an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants; in the second, an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants. The fourth covers the engine, where loose bolts could cause the VVT gear housing and sprocket to separate. Owners have filed 23 complaints for the year and Lexus has issued 89 technical service bulletins. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From wipers that have stopped working to the air bag inflator modules or the VVT gear housing, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2011 IS 350.

TAKATA RECALL - MY CAR IS SUPPOSEDLY AFFECTED BY THE RECALL, BUT THE RECALL WILL NOT ACTUALLY SHOW UP IN THE SYSTEM- IT SOUNDS LIKE IT ONLY HAPPENS IN 2019 - WHICH IS GREATER THAN 6 YEARS AFTER THE CAR WAS PUT IN SERVICE. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS AND LOSS OF VALUE TO THE CAR. ADDITIONALLY, THE CAR IS CURRENTLY IN PA BUT WILL BE MOVING TO WARMER WEATHER CLIMATE AND THIS WILL CAUSE THE DEGRADATION TO HAPPEN MORE RAPIDLY. LEXUS REPORTS THERE ARE NO ISSUES, WHICH IS NOT TRUE
THE DOOR PANELS AND DASH BOARD GETS STICKY AND MELT OVER THE YEARS AND THE SEATS STARTS TO TEAR AND BECOME LOOSE
TAKATA RECALL. THIS RECALL IS TAKING TOO LONG AND THERE IS NO RESOLUTION DATE PROPOSED. I AM TRYING TO TRADE-IN OR SELL MY VEHICLE AND RECEIVE OFFERS $4000 OR MORE LESS THEN KBB VALUE. I DON'T WANT TO USE THE VEHICLE ESPECIALLY WITH A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. THE REAR SEATS ARE NOT CONVENIENT IN THE IS250C MODEL AS IT IS A TWO DOOR AND THE REAR SEATS OFFER A CRAMPED SPACE FOR PASSENGERS.
The dashboard is defective in that it melts when exposed to heat and becomes sticky. Although initially it started off as a cosmetic issue, the melting of the dashboard causes it to be very glossy to the point where it reflects onto the front windshield and creates a blind spot on the front windshield when driving. This poses an immediate safety hazard when driving as it's sometimes difficult to see objects that are right in front of the car while driving. The defective dashboard has been confir

"TAKATA RECALL" I WOULD LIKE TO ASK IF I CAN JUST HAVE THE AIRBAGS TAKEN OUT. IT IS RIDICULOUS TO NOT BE ABLE TO HAVE PEOPLE IN MY CAR WHILE DRIVING. HOW DO I KNOW IF IT IS SAFE FOR ME TO BE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS SOUND LIKE THEY CAN HURT MORE THAN JUST THE PASSENGERS. I FEEL IT IS MY RIGHT TO HAVE THE BAGS TAKEN OUT AND TO DEPEND ON THE TRUSTY SEATBELT. CAN I HAVE THIS DONE AT NO CHARGE TO ME? I ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHY DID THEY USE A DIFFERENT AIRBAG MANUFACTURER FOR THE PASS
