Built around the 2007 Lexus IS 350 in particular, this service and repair manual is keyed to the exact year, engine and trim you are working on, so the clearances, torque values and diagnostic trees it gives for the 3.5L V6 (2GR-FSE) are the ones Lexus published for this model year rather than figures carried over from an adjacent year or a different engine.

Known issues on the 2007 IS 350. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers the wipers, which if inoperative could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a vehicle crash. Three separate recalls cover the frontal passenger-side air bag inflator module: an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants, and in the most recent of the three an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants. A fifth covers the engine itself, citing micro-foreign objects in the valve spring material, where the engine could fail and stop suddenly while the vehicle is in motion. The sixth is also an engine recall, in which loose bolts could cause the VVT gear housing and sprocket to separate. Owners have filed 70 complaints for the year and Lexus has issued 77 technical service bulletins. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you are chasing inoperative wipers, checking the VVT gear housing bolts or working a scheduled service on the 2GR-FSE, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for this 2007 IS 350.
