Known issues on the 2009 Challenger. NHTSA holds 7 recalls for the 2009 Challenger. In certain 2009 Challenger vehicles from a stated build window, the two-stage driver frontal air bag inflator could take on moisture and rupture, and owners were told not to drive until it was replaced. Certain rear-wheel-drive 2009 Challenger vehicles may have left the factory missing a front wheel spindle nut, which could let a wheel come off. Certain 2009 Challenger vehicles were also recalled for tire pressure sensors that might not report real pressure. Owners submitted 133 complaints: air bags 41, power train 27, engine 26.
