Known issues on the 2008 XC90. Engine mounting and climate control account for two of the 3 recalls issued for the 2008 XC90. Certain 2008 XC90 vehicles equipped with the V8 engine may have been assembled with the wrong engine mount bolts; without enough clamping force the aluminum mount bracket could break, letting the engine touch the subframe and lose torque or stall. Certain others could have the climate control module shut down by the engine control module at key-in, leaving no defroster for that drive. Owners filed 29 complaints: 8 on the electrical system, 6 on the engine, 4 each on the power train and seat belts, and 3 on stability control, with 1 reporting a crash and 1 a fire. Engine mount torque values apply.
