Known issues on the 2007 XC90. NHTSA records 2 recalls for the 2007 XC90. On certain 2007 XC90 SUVs, the climate control module could receive a shut-down command from the engine control module after the key went in, leaving climate functions, including the defroster, unavailable for that drive; the engine control software was upgraded. Certain vehicles equipped with a Garmin 760 portable navigation unit were also recalled because its battery could overheat and cause a fire. Owners filed 38 complaints — 14 on the electrical system, 5 on the power train and 4 each on the engine and steering — and 5 complaints reported a fire.
